Splendid Splendour returns to Woodford
Adrian Raedel, Councillor for Division 12, has welcomed back the Splendour in the Grass festival.
"I think it is great news" he said "despite some traffic and noise teething problems last year Splendour in the Grass injected thousands of dollars into the local hinterland corridor"
"The opportunities for local community groups like the Scouts, Lions and Showgrounds is just fantastic" Adrian said "I hope all the community get behind this event from Eagle Boys Pizza to Clews News, from the Bed and Breakfasts to our new Visitor Information Centre, this is big news!"
"I'm excited, I think we'll see a much smoother festival this year" Cr Raedel said "I am looking forward to working with the Splendour group in their community consultation this year and am looking forward to their first communication with the community."
There were a number of characters discovered at last years festival both amongst the patrons and the volunteers.
"Perhaps this year the legend of Woodford Barry will continue to be broadcast across the world, he was an amazing ambassador for the area without even realising it" Mr Raedel said "I look forward to retelling the story in the years to come"
