ANZAC day at Wamuran

With a flyover formation of a flock of Cockatoos instead of aviators, ANZAC day was celebrated by the Caboolture National Servicemen and the Wamuran community in NASHO Park. The flock of cockatoos replaced the historic warplanes that normally take to the sky causing people to reflect on how lucky they are, in a country "as free as a bird".

The weather held off for just long enough to reflect on the sacrifices of those in past and present theatres of war. Col John Power (Retired) was the guest speaker, other guests were Andrew Powell MLA, Mark Ryan MLA, Local Divisional Councillor Adrian Raedel and Division 3 Councillor Greg Chippendale.

"It is always a great turn out from the Wamuran community" Cr Raedel said "and the involvement of the community from the school through to the local rural fire brigade is legendary"
