A word from Adrian

Well, the Council budget has been delivered.

We will see an average increase of 3.26 percent (which is less than cpi) with more than 50 percent of our owner occupied residential properties receiving an increase less than 3.6 percent (cpi).

Council has also capped units, rural, rural residential, residential and non owner occupied properties at 6 percent which is a vast difference to last years budget.

Council recognised that times are extremely tough and a lot of work was done to ensure that this budget was as good as we could get, it won't be perfect but we have worked hard to bring down a responsible budget. One that has a minor operating surplus and maintain our low debt levels but also limits the burden on our residents.

Over the coming months I will be highlighting one or two of these projects in each of the Division 12 areas and explain more about them.

Cheers
Adrian Raedel
